Although the Christmas Tree farms plant trees each year it takes multiple years for them to grow to large enough to be harvested. Last year's rain was not enough to overcome the multiple year drought that effected the Pacific Northwest.  Christmas Trees grow only about a foot a year. Thus, there is a shortage of trees this year. This is impacting availability and prices.
